The iPhone app is where you build the face. The Watch app is where you look at it.

What you do on iPhone

Browse presets, create from your album, and set brightness, grain, calendar or time style, and font color. Premium is what unlocks unlimited faces from photos. Presets can be applied free.

What you do on Apple Watch

Open Pixel Faces for the full-screen pixel face. It stays a companion app, so it does not show up as a built-in watch face you set from the watch face switcher.
